Turning Data into Decisions: My Journey in Artificial Intelligence and Business Impact

Artificial intelligence is often discussed in terms of algorithms, models, and technological breakthroughs. But in real organizations, its true value lies elsewhere: in better decisions, smoother operations, and measurable business impact. My work has always lived at this intersection — where advanced analytics meets real-world complexity.
I am an Artificial Intelligence Solutions Expert with a strong focus on transforming complex systems into actionable, data-driven strategies. Over the years, I have worked across banking, finance, retail, logistics, and academia, designing and deploying analytical solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality at scale.
From Optimization Problems to Enterprise AI
My professional journey began with optimization and operational research, long before “AI” became a buzzword. In logistics and retail environments, I worked on warehouse performance, order-picking optimization, layout design, and simulation-based improvements. These experiences shaped the way I approach data today: not as abstract models, but as tools to solve concrete operational problems.
This mindset later became central to my work in banking. At Yapı Kredi Bank, where I currently serve as Service Advanced Analytics and AI Solutions Manager (Head of Data Science), I lead teams that tackle some of the bank’s most complex analytical challenges. Our work spans from cash optimization and budget planning to customer segmentation, sales guidance systems, and large-scale predictive modeling.
AI That Works in the Real World
A major focus of my recent work has been the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI into real business processes. This includes building intelligent sales assistant systems, NLP-driven guidance tools for branch operators, recommendation engines, and task automation frameworks powered by LLM agents.
Beyond innovation, I care deeply about reliability and impact. Whether it’s ATM cash forecasting, queue management optimization, or personnel planning models, every solution is designed to operate in high-stakes, real-time environments. The result has been tangible outcomes — including cost reductions of up to 50%, improved operational efficiency, and more informed decision-making across organizations.
Leadership, Teaching, and Knowledge Sharing
Alongside technical leadership, I have always valued education and communication. I have taught data modeling and validation as a guest lecturer at MEF University, focusing on how analytics can be applied to real business problems rather than remaining purely theoretical. I also actively contribute to the broader conversation around data and innovation. My writing appears in Harvard Business Review Türkiye, where I explore data-driven strategy, AI, and organizational transformation. On Medium, I dive deeper into the technical aspects of artificial intelligence solutions and emerging technologies.
What This Blog Is About
This blog is a space where I connect technology, strategy, and reality.
Here, you’ll find:
Insights on applied AI and advanced analytics
Reflections on data-driven decision-making in large organizations
Practical perspectives on LLMs, automation, and optimization
Lessons learned from building systems that must actually work
My goal is not to simplify complexity, but to make it usable. AI is not magic — it is a discipline, a mindset, and a responsibility. When designed thoughtfully, it becomes one of the most powerful tools organizations can use to move forward.
Welcome to the conversation.
